Privacy and cookies

Cooking Brilliant is run by Andy Wood in the UK. Questions about this policy go to hello@cookingbrilliant.com.
What we collect
Nothing you type into the converters or the recipe scaler leaves your device. The tools run entirely in your browser.
There are no accounts, newsletters or comment forms. If you email us, we keep the email so we can reply, and delete it when it's no longer needed.
Our web host keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time) for security and to keep the site running. These are kept for a limited period and aren't used to identify you.
Advertising and cookies
The site is paid for by Google AdSense ads. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technology to show ads and measure them, and, with your consent, to personalise them.
If you visit from the UK, the EEA or Switzerland, you'll see a consent message from Google before any of this happens. You can accept, refuse, or choose by purpose. Refusing still lets you use everything on the site. You may see non-personalised ads instead.
You can change your choice at any time from the privacy and cookie settings link on every page.
Google explains how it uses information from sites that show its ads at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can turn off personalised ads from Google across the web at adssettings.google.com.
We don't use any other analytics or tracking cookies.
Links to other sites
Some pages link to other websites, which have their own privacy policies.
A few pages link to Amazon UK. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases made through those links, at no extra cost to you. They're labelled where they appear. If you click one, Amazon may set its own cookies to record that you came from this site. That happens on Amazon's site, under Amazon's privacy notice, not ours.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to how it's used. Email us to do any of these. If you're unhappy with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
